The Hershey Company's (HSY) iconic milk chocolate bar is getting a makeover after 120 years. The confectionery giant is undergoing a multi-year plan to overhaul all of its products which will ultimately contain "simple and easy-to-understand" ingredients.

"It all starts with the consumer changing. They're really involved in what they're eating and they want to know the ingredients in their foods. And, we want to be out in front of that," said Will Papa, Vice President and Chief Research & Development Officer at The Hershey Company, who's been at the forefront of this new transition.

Hershey's massive product renovation will be inclusive, starting with its most iconic brands.

"Job one is the Hershey's bar," says Papa. "Then Hershey's Kisses and Reese's."

He says they never used high-fructose corn syrup in the classic Hershey's bar, but are removing other ingredients consumers won't recognize.

"We're removing PGPR (Polyglycerol polyricinoleate) and vanillin from our chocolate bars by the end of the year."

PGPR is an emulsifier derived from castor bean oil and often used to improve processing characteristics of chocolate. An emulsifier is an ingredient that is typically used in food production as a way to keep fat and water from separating in the product.

"It's basically used to help make the product stay together and plays a huge role in molding the chocolate."

Vanillin is a common artificial ingredient obtained from plant-derived materials, which provides a "vanilla flavoring" to foods.

"We're replacing it with natural vanilla. A lot of these ingredients pre-date me. Some of the artificial ingredients help make the products easier to manufacture. Easier to mold and flow better. Historically, artificial ingredients can be more consistent, too. You can deliver more of a consistent product with them. So, the big challenge with real vanilla is its variability in delivering the same product consistently."

Warner Brothers are set to bring a long awaited adaptation of Steve Alten's thriller Meg to the screen, and a new report has revealed that Eli Roth is in talks to helm the project, which has spent nearly two decades in varying stages of development.

Roth's potential involvement in the project was divulged by sources to both The Wrap and Variety. Belle Avery and Colin Wilson are both set to be producers on Meg, working from a script that has been newly revised by Dean Georgaris. Gerald Molen and Randy Greenberg are on board as executive producers, and co-financing has been established through Gravity Pictures.

Meg will be based on the novel of the same name, which became a New York Times Bestseller upon its 1997 release. The story details humanity's rediscovery of the supposedly extinct megalodon, a 60-foot-long prehistoric shark, in the depths of the Marianas Trench.

As the Inquisitr has previously reported, though the continued existence of the megalodon has been speculated upon by a number of sources (including two widely panned mockumentaries released by Discovery), the animal went extinct several million years ago.

Wilbur "Will" Allen, a photographer who says he is a former Air Force One engineer and White House employee under Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, is attracting considerable attention in the online UFO community with the astounding claim that in July, 2010, he photographed an alien UFO firing an energy beam over the U.S. Capitol and coming in to land at an ET base located beneath the White House.

Allen's "forensic quality" and "precision" photos showing alien UFOs over Washington, D.C., are being circulated among members of the online UFO/ET disclosure community as evidence that the U.S. government has entered into secret alliances with alien races.

Such bizarre claims are gaining the attention of the UFO community, apparently because they reinforce beliefs that the U.S. government has secret military and space technology alliance with certain alien races.

In a recent interview with UFO/ET disclosure activist Alfred Lambremont Webre, published on the website NewsInsideOut.com, Allen accused President Barack Obama of lying to the public by denying the truth about the U.S. government's contact with alien races.

According to Allen, although Obama continues to deny knowledge of UFOs, he has obtained photographic evidence of a UFO base located right under the White House.

"Obama denies that Extraterrestrials exist. Yet I have precision photographs of extraterrestrial craft coming in to land at an extraterrestrial base under or around the White House underneath the Potomac River."

Allen's claim that the U.S. government has intimate links with extraterrestrial races contradicts the official statement posted to the White House website that "The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye."

According to Allen "On July 20, 2010 at 3:18:07 AM in NW Washington, D.C., a relatively short distance from the White House, I imaged a slow moving UFO pulse through the sky, and then [observed the UFO] fire an energy beam which extended from it."

"I took several stationary images of the stars as I usually do. However, there is one object I thought to be a star, moving and then discharging a beam of light... There is one frame that does not make much sense? A star is either moving or shooting a beam of light that is 'bent.' The motion is not registered with any of the other 'stars' in this sampling."

Days after he captured the UFO making incursion into restricted airspace over Washington, D.C., Allen sent a video of the sighting to Webre. The video, according to Allen, included ten frames of images showing the UFO discharging an energy beam over the U.S. Capitol and the White House.
