Re: How old are you?

from Lady on 06/15/2015 03:51 PM

Old enough to not admit it and young enough to still enjoy an active life.  You are as young as you feel.

I agree with you, Corey.  What better way to manipulate then to add us to their mix.  I hope they die on the vine!

Have you ever had your wisdom teeth removed?

from Lady on 06/15/2015 03:44 PM

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Just days after going in for a routine procedure at the dentist's office, doctors have said there is nothing more they can do for a Eden Prairie teenager.

The parents of 17-year-old Sydney Galleger shared on her CaringBridge website each step of her battle. She went in to get her wisdom teeth out Tuesday, and that's when she went into cardiac arrest.

They said the wisdom teeth surgery was going fine until the end, when Sydney's blood pressure shot up and her pulse dropped. The doctor and emergency responders tried CPR.

Throughout the next few days in the hospital, her parents again shared the roller coaster of events that ensued — from stable condition to critical, and the brain swelling and seizures that continued.

The whole time the family was surrounded by thoughts and prayers of a community. When Sydney's difficult journey ended Friday, the outpouring of support only grew.

On Monday, family members updated her page, saying that although there had been reports that she had passed away over the weekend, she was still alive.

"She is in very critical condition and of course we are praying for a miracle but we also have to face the reality that the prognosis is not good," her family wrote.

Doctors said that she had met nine of the 10 criteria to be considered brain dead; she was still able to breathe on her own.

"We want to rewind to Monday where we had our happy, healthy, funny, beautiful 17-year-old daughter," her mother wrote earlier.

Full of healthy and happy teens, the girls on Eden Prairie's lacrosse team can easily see themselves in fellow athlete Sydney Galleger.

"When I think about it, it just makes me reflect on my own life and my own friends and family," student Serena Rutledge said.

Using Galleger's favorite color, students wore blue ribbons to show support during a confusing time, after a young life was taken.

"She really did touch so many lives," student Kate Piechowski said.

Family members said while they don't know what exactly happened, there could have been a heart condition they didn't know about.

"We are so devastated that this has happened to our precious daughter and are still trying to process and make sense of it all," her family wrote.

Should each state do what this state has? Maine Just Put Welfare Leeches in Their Place, Every American Needs To See What Happened Next

from Lady on 06/14/2015 05:53 PM

Governor Paul LePage of Maine isn't running for president in 2016. But perhaps he should be. Because he is doing in Maine exactly what Americans want to see — but other candidates are not even talking about.

Last November, just one week after his re-election, LePage did something unusual — he made good on a major campaign promise, by slashing funds for cities who give welfare to illegal aliens. The policy has already had a huge impact, with illegals fleeing in droves, and Democrat mayors having to defend giving handouts to illegal invaders before angry voters.

Now, just 6 months later, LePage is making good on another promise: to put an end to welfare leeches in his state, once and for all.

The results are something every American should see — an EPIC victory. And Maine's Democrats are FURIOUS.

Governor LePage passed a measure last year that requires recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program (SNAP) to complete a certain number of work, job-training, or volunteer hours in order to be eligible for assistance. The new requirement has resulted in a dramatic decline in food stamp enrollment, resulting in a logical win-win for all of Maine.

At the end of 2014 the enrollment count for SNAP was approximately 12,000 individuals. Now that individuals have to complete either 20 hours of part-time work a week, volunteer for at least 24 hours per month, or get involved in a vocational program, the amount of SNAP recipients has dramatically dropped from 12,000 to approximately 2,500 by the end of March — a nearly 80% reduction in welfare.

The drop in numbers exceeded Republicans' expectations by leaps and bounds.

Instead of just giving welfare applicants an easy way out, Maine is forcing people to explore every opportunity for employment before allowing capable adults to take advantage of the system and the people of Maine.

Of course Democrats are insisting that the program targets those in poverty or rural areas but their argument is invalid. The individuals benefiting from the new food-stamp law are the ones who really need the assistance and aren't just lazy parasites to society who suck the vitality out of taxpayers.

This is a huge victory for the Republicans of Maine and of course the sore loser Democrats are trying to tarnish the reformation's success. Democrats are urging for special measures to ease back on some of the new requirements because they are "too strict". Too strict to get off your butt and earn your money, or at least volunteer or learn a skill? Maine citizens aren't buying it.

Re: Climate "scientists" caught falsifying data AGAIN

from Lady on 06/14/2015 04:58 PM

The earth has warmed and cooled over milleniums and will continue to do so.  NOAA did adjust 15 years of their climate in order to please this current regime.  Global warming, climate change - whatever they choose to call it, is a $22B/yr. hoax on the American public.

It is also another way to destroy our natural resources, businesses and for this regime to take your tax dollars for cronyism.

Re: Do you think US Senator Bernie Sanders is the next President of USA?

from Lady on 06/14/2015 04:55 PM

If you would like to keep $40 of every $100 you make. Vote Bernie. Bernie is a self-admitted socialist and has said taxes should be raised to 90% to redistribute wealth.
