Re: Practice makes perfect or natural talents?
from Marianne on 06/07/2015 10:57 AMI would say that practice is essential!
Natural talents help much, but they can only develop well with a regular, adequate practice - including theory. Also less talented people can improve their abilities with appropriate teaching and practise.
And motivated learners are usually the most likely to succeed.
Re: SH Users Still Active
from Marianne on 06/07/2015 01:01 AMOh, I see; thank you for the clarification.
That is indeed strange. Till now, I could not find any activities, but I'll check some more questions or polls later on, unless only logged-in people can see these activities.

Re: Please share your favorite recipes.
from Marianne on 06/06/2015 10:05 PMHello to all and hello Eternal Sailor!
As I see, there is still a lot to translate, so I will start with a dessert - a bit too caloric, but delicious:
Ingredients
5 dl fresh cream
400 g sugar
1 "point of a knife" of vanilla sugar
200 g powdered / icing sugar
Recipe:
- Mix cream, sugar and vanilla sugar in a large pan, heat the whole while stirring continually, till big bubbles form, while the mixture takes a slightly golden shade and seems easy to get off the bottom of the pan.
- Then, add the icing or powdered sugar and mix it well into the caramel.
- Take the whole from the fire, spread and shape the caramel mass as a relatively thick square on a sheet of bakery release paper
- Let dry and then, cut cubes from the solidified caramel.
