Re: Ever Own A Blue-Eyed Pet?
from Marianne on 06/26/2015 08:07 PMNo, but friends of mine had Siamese cats with blue eyes. Furthermore, horses have sometimes blue eyes or odd eyes, i.e. a blue and a brown or hazel eye.
Re: Capuchin Or Iguana - Which Would You Prefer As Your Next Pet?
from Marianne on 06/26/2015 12:03 PMBoth look sweet, but they are no pets, and they are endangered: they belong to wildlife. In captivity, they would need special care and would have to be prepared and conditioned, following international wildlife protection projects, to be reintroduced into their natural habitat.
So, my answer would be
neither,
as we should rather care for our familiar domestic animals;
there are so many cats, dogs, rabbits, etc.,
waiting in animal shelters who need a home and a loving "mum" or "dad".
Re: Where do you get your spices?
from Marianne on 06/26/2015 11:14 AMMany spices come from abroad and need special processing and mixtures; we have to buy them in groceries, supermarkets, or specialised stores.
But we often forget the native herbs and vegetables of our regions, which can be grown in gardens or pots or, for some, even found in nature, or bought directly from farms and vegetable growers; quite a few can be used as spices, without complicated processing or preparation. Onions, garlic, peppers, for instance, are a classic ingredient of many European recipes, as much as parsley, lovage, chives, basilicum, cumin, thyme, rosemary, tarragon, sage, chervil, dill, laurel, lavender, mint, lemon balm, etc., etc. - just to cite a few.
